Symptoms You May Experience After Getting The COVID-19 Vaccine

With over 10,000 Oklahoman's vaccinated Monday for COVID-19, some could be experiencing the after-vaccination side effects.

Common side effects can include pain and swelling at the injection site.

Health care officials encourage you to keep exercising your arm or put a cool damp cloth over the injection site.

Throughout your entire body, you could feel fever, chills, body aches, exhaustion, or headaches.

Some helpful tips to get through this time include drinking plenty of fluids and wearing light clothes, and getting the rest your body is needing. But while you could feel sick for a few days' health care officials say that the reward of immunity is what Oklahoma needs.

"Oklahomans should feel confident in receiving the vaccines. Both vaccines require both vaccines to be effective," said State Commissioner of Health Dr. Lance Frye.

If your symptoms do not go away, call your doctor.

Everybody has different reactions to the vaccination.
